Honeybees
Bumble Bee. Most people recognize this insect; quite large. Note that there is ANOTHER insect that looks almost exactly the same, called the Wood Bee, that bores round holes in wooden beams.
Bumblebee
Yellowjacket. Often mistaken for honeybee as it is almost the same size and color. Live in ground OR in sides of buildings, attics, etc. Make a very large nest.
Yellowjacket….very similar to honeybee in appearance
Red Wasp. Very Aggressive. Nest usually not visible from outside since they live inside attics, etc.
The aggressive Red Wasp
Cicada Wasp. Identifiable by extremely large size; also called a “digger wasp” because they dig holes in the ground.
